The Family Law Consultant offers cost effective expert services, putting you in control of your divorce, finances and arrangements for your children

Divorce and Financial Services

Did you know that divorce does not sever all financial ties? And agreements reached within the mediation arena are not binding or enforceable? The division of the matrimonial pot remains open until firmly dealt with in a Court Order.

Future-proof your finances and protect yourself against further claims by instructing us to draft your agreed settlement into a legally binding Consent Order.

Contact Arrangements for Children

Have you and your co-parent reached an agreement outlining where and with who your children will live? Do you need the formality of a Parenting Plan or the enforceability of a Consent Order?

The Family Law Consultant service provides comprehensive documents outlining your agreement, so you know where you and your children stand moving forward.

Cohabitation and Separation

Are you entering into a cohabiting relationship? Perhaps you want to document your current capital position upon cohabiting, or define who will pay for what. Or has your relationship come to an end? You might be looking to sell your shared home and divide the proceeds.

We can help. We prepare composite Cohabitation and Separation Agreements encompassing all aspects of your joint finances.

FAQ

Do I have to be going through a divorce?

In order to have a Final Financial Remedy Order you must be going through the divorce process, and in order for the Final Financial Remedy Order to be filed at Court you must have reached the midway point of your divorce, being your Conditional Order.

How is this service different from a solicitors firm?

We are a fully online service, offering complete accessibility from anywhere within England and Wales, without the stress of scheduling appointments during office hours. Where necessary, we will do our best to accomodate consultations outside of office hours. With our competitive fixed fee pricing we are considerably more cost effective than high street law firms, with no hidden extras, and we aim to provide comprehensive draft documents within only 7 working days. Unlike many solicitors we are also able to accept instructions from both parties on a joint basis, helping you avoid animosity.

Will you help us reach a financial agreement?

No, we are not a legal advice service, we do not advise as to whether a settlement is fair or proportionate, instead we draft it in accordance with your instructions giving you complete control and an efficient resolution.

I don't think we really need to formalise our agreement, what is the point?

If you do not formalise your agreement then you leave yourself exposed to financial claims against you in the future. You need protection and enforceability to adequately protect your future self.

We don't know where to start, what do we do?

Get in touch! We know that divorce and separation can be painful and emotive, we are on hand to help. We have many years of industry experience and we are specialists in family law. We will work with you to determine which service you need and together we will navigate the next steps.

Will I need any information or documentation?
Yes, when you instruct us you will need to show us your photographic I.D and proof of address. If you choose to instruct us to prepare your D81 you will need to provide us with figure work outlining your capital and income position, as well as your pension value.

I want to instruct you on a sole basis, I want a Parenting Plan or Consent Order  (children) drafting and sending to my ex partner for approval, does your service offer this?

We will happily accept instructions to draft a Parenting Plan or Consent Order, but you will be responsible for liaising with your ex partner in order to obtain their agreement and signature. You can approach this directly or within the mediation arena.

I'm separating from my partner, we aren't married, do we need to do anything?

You may benefit from a Separation Agreement. This is an agreement that records how joint finances are being divided, who will be responsible for any joint debts and who will keep which household items and furniture. A separation agreement can be used as evidence of what was agreed at the point of separation if in the future if your ex seeks to make a financial claim against you.

I've been ordered to file a statement with the Court, I don't have a clue what I'm doing, can you help me?

Don't panic! We know how stressful it can be trying to prepare a statement for Court. We have over a decade of experience in preparing statements within the family court arena and our expert consultants are on hand to assist you. Get in touch and we'll get a consultation booked in, you give us the instructions, we prepare the statement for a one off fixed fee.
